Terrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs

Our experience with this moving company was beyond disastrous. From start to finish, they caused extensive damage to our belongings and displayed an appalling lack of professionalism.

First and foremost, George, the head of operations, was incredibly rude and dismissive. When we reported the extensive damage, he wrongly accused us of trying to scam new items through a claim—an accusation that was not only baseless but deeply insulting. We trusted this company to move our belongings intact, and they utterly failed us.

They broke our baby grand piano. Despite testing every key before packing, they dropped the piano during the move, which was captured on video. When we inspected it the next morning, two keys were sunken and unresponsive. The quote we received was for a 7-hour job, but they were in our home until midnight, leaving us to discover the damage the next day.

Additionally, they left our expensive furniture in pieces, with parts scattered and unlabeled. This lack of organization made reassembling our items nearly impossible and left us feeling utterly devastated.

The level of carelessness and disrespect shown by this company is unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and avoid them at all costs.

Do not use Midway Moving & Storage Inc.

Thinking of hiring professional movers? Do not use Midway Moving & Storage. Misled information on insurance coverage and broke the screens of both my big screen LED TVs, and left me $5000 in the hole. What professional outfit breaks two TV's in the first place, and then leaves you out to dry. Financial disaster. Do not use Midway Moving. Plenty of other firms to choose from.

Thieves!

Horrible!  I'll start with the biggest problem.  The movers stole my engagement ring and some other pieces of jewelry.  The company has yet to respond to me and won't even call back the cop that is involved in my case.  Trash!Second problem..they were scheduled for a move on Wednesday and cancelled Wednesday morning saying they can't make it and won't be there until Thursday.

Do not use these movers.

This is a very very bad moving company. Though I saved a few dollars up front, I ended up spending so much more money to replace my stolen and destroyed items. The company is careless and unethical. They are very slow to respond to concerns much less resolve those concerns. Once they walk out of your door, they wash their hands of you. There seems to be no desiare on their part to preserve the integrity of their name. So if you want to pay for careless thieves to move your most prized possessions, call Midway! The cost of my move was $500 NOT inclduing the $800 in damages!

Stolen diamond ring.

I am very disappointed to be writing this review. I've used Midway Moving in the past and always had fairly good experiences. However, my last move which took place on August 29, 2018 resulted in two diamond rings missing from two separate houses along the move route.

I noticed my engagement ring was missing the evening of the move after the movers had left. I immediately started looking everywhere for the ring thinking it might have fallen out of my jewelry box - I searched in the carpet, in the bathroom vents, under the sink, etc. I did not want to accuse anyone of theft; even though the thought did cross my mind, I decided to give the movers the benefit of the doubt.

However, when I spoke with my mother two days later (Aug. 31) she told me her diamond ring also went missing the day of the move (my parents' house was the original destination of our move). At that point I knew I could stop looking for my ring - I knew it was stolen and so was my mother's ring. I've had my ring for three years, and I've never once misplaced or lost it. My mother has had her ring for over 32 years, and she has never misplaced or lost it. It's too much of a coincidence that both of our rings would go missing the very same day - much less the same day Midway Movers were in both of our houses.

I called Midway Moving on Friday, August 31, 2018 to report the issue and was told I would receive a call back after they "looked into it." Today is September 10, and I still have not received a response - not even an "I'm sorry." I am heartbroken to think of how hard my husband worked to save up the money to buy that ring for me. Aside from the money lost, the ring also had sentimental value - it was the ring my husband held in his hands when he got down on one knee and proposed to me; it is the ring that was blessed on our wedding day. Now, it's gone forever. Furthermore, I'm devastated that I invited a criminal(s) into my parents' house where my mother had her prized possession stolen, too.

Untruthful and Poor customer service.

We were quoted for a two person originally and the amount we were quoted was reasonable. Since we are on a budget the amount we were quoted was very important. We trusted this company to be professional. On the day of the move we got multiple phone calls stating that a three person move was needed. We were told the move would go quickly with the three person move. When the movers arrived they were (intentionally) slow and got lost arriving to the new house. When they were unloading a mover fell on and broke our bookcase. The mover told us that it wouldn't be covered and was unapologetic. We were billed DOUBLE of what we were quoted which was a HUGE financial strain. When they were leaving the movers got upset with our poor tip and confronted my husband on the low amount we were tipping. Afterwards the same day we contacted customer service and were given the run around for three weeks. After speaking with Stephens Wayne the Director of Operations I was promised to have a reply in 2 days. To this date NO REPLY has been received. No phone calls. No e-mail. I am SO disappointed in the lack of care this company has. They get the money and don't care about anything afterwards.

Midway is Horrrrrrriible!!

Absolutely the worst!! My family has used Midway several times. This will be the very last. My mother used Midway on her relocation to Texas. The insurance means NOTHING! Items arrived broken and damaged. Some items didn't arrive at all. There is no recourse, even after paying for $25000 worth of insurance coverage. When your items are picked up they are taken to a warehouse. From there they are loaded into a truck with other consumers belongings. When the items finally arrived, my mother had to stand outside the truck and point out items that did and did not belong to her. The drivers were so close to putting items that belonged to someone else in our unit. My mothers Sleep Number mattress was folded, of course at the time the one thing on her mind was not "let me file a claim right away". And lets not even mention the $800 in tips to the drivers both in Chicago to Texas. She went home unpacked
some of her belongings and hoped the mattress would unfold to normalcy. NOPE! At that point the mattress was trash! She had to junk it and purchase another. What did midway do after two months of chasing them around? Deny the claim. Their reason for denying was because we signed the delivery acknowledgement. I'm assuming at that time we were supposed to un-box every single box, and look through every item from a 4 bdrm, 2 bath household before we sign the form and let the movers leave. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. YOU WILL REGRET IT!

Buyer Beware!

This moving company is only out to rip you off! Not only did they double the quote once they had us hostage on the way from Chicago to Jacksonville, but we were told that we were totally covered by insurance for breakages. The contract is designed to confuse - and so we did in the midst of moving out. When our stuff arrived - a large picture had its frame smashed and glass shattered. Claim to repair is was $1890. They offered us $45 - if we didn't post anything on social media!!

PLEASE SHARE THIS REVIEW WITH ANYONE AND EVERYONE.

Holding my goods hostage in storage after paid I for the move!

I paid based upon the estimate that was given.

Then the day before, I receive an email from Martha Garibay saying that they can't complete the move because I still have a balance for storage!

Not even the courtesy of a phone call explaining why!

Then she tried to blame their problems with their bookkeeping on me!!!

It's been 35 days I've been living in my apartment waiting for Martha to tell me my ballance!!!
